Introducing 2 new RED AWARD categories:
RED STAR
The RED star award is new and independently judged by the RIA executives.
The aim of this award is to discover, encourage and introduce the retail interiors industry ‘rising stars of the future’.
It is open to Designers, Shop fitter/joiners, or Retail Specialist Suppliers those who have been in the industry for up to three years, who are 30 years of age or under.
Entries for this award are by nomination only and it’s free to enter. Employers, Clients, or Industry Professionals are invited to nominate a promising candidate.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You will be asked to upload:
A PDF – (can be up to 4 pages) that outlines the nominee’s talent, achievements and potential to the industry. The PDF will read a bit like a CV and should include:
- A testimony or reference (written by the nominator)
And a summary of the nominee’s:
- Background and education
- Work experience
- Achievements
- An example project including:
- an outline of the clients brief
- the candidate’s roles/responsibility and contribution to the project
- A summary of the project outcome
- Photos that represent an example of the nominees work
SUSTAINABILITY AWARD
The Sustainability Award is an addition to the Excellence Awards. This award is proudly sponsored by Kiwi Property – joining our key sponsors in 2017.
This award is has been developed to promote ‘design for good’ - bringing about societal change through design to positively impact people’s lives.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
As part of your Division entry, you will be asked to indicate sustainable elements of your project design within the design brief.
You will be asked to upload:
A typed explanation (up to 300 words) of the project, explaining the client’s brief, budget, floor area and tangible effects/results as part of the normal project upload.
To be considered for the excellence award for Sustainability, please include an outline of the sustainable elements within your design as part of this briefing document.
After your entry has been received, In addition to the outline of Sustainable design elements within your design brief, you will be forwarded a Sustainable Design Checklist to complete and submit to the judging panel.
